Value Chain

A value chain is a series of activities that create and build value for its customers. The way in which value chain activities are performed determines expenses and affects total profits. The value chain is made up of primary activities that involve inbound logistics, marketing and sales, outbound logistics, operations, and service. The support functions that feed into the primary functions are the infrastructure, human resource management, and infrastructure. Honda is a manufacturing company that obtains raw materials and uses them to produce useful vehicles for customers. Honda provides more value to their customers, which gives them a competitive advantage.

Business ProcessAt Route 23 Honda, the business can be both either dynamic and structured. The dynamic process can be shown when the business uses social media. Where as the company can promote new specials or new inventory. Structured process would be when a customer has placed an order on a particular vehicle that is currently not in our inventory. The scope ofthe process is Enterprise; we support the dealership itself and spend money on ouradvertising just for this dealership. The process for the Enterprise would be market, sales, finance, accounting, customer service.

Information Silo
One most important silo that may occur is that there will be a duplicate of the customer’s information in our system and managers might assign the duplicate customer to a different sales representative. Vin Solutions doesn’t eliminate this silo and it causes a problem between 2 sales representatives having the same customer.
